Nutrition Lookup is provided by Barzig Lab Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you scan or import a barcode to look up nutrition information.
Summary
Nutrition Lookup does not require an account, does not show ads, does not use analytics, and does not sell personal information.
The app scans UPC, EAN, GTIN, and GS1 Digital Link QR codes to find nutrition information from public product data sources, including Open Food Facts.
Information the App Processes
Camera barcode scanning
When you use the camera scanner, camera frames are processed on your device to detect supported barcode formats. The app does not upload camera images or video to Barzig Lab Inc.
Image barcode scanning
When you choose an image from your device, the selected image is processed on your device to detect a supported barcode. The app does not upload the selected image to Barzig Lab Inc.
Barcode and product lookup
After a barcode or GS1 Digital Link GTIN is detected, the app sends the barcode or GTIN value to Open Food Facts to retrieve product and nutrition information. For example, the app may call:

Open Food Facts may receive technical information normally included in internet requests, such as your IP address, user agent, request time, and the requested barcode. Open Food Facts' own privacy practices are governed by its policies.
Scan history
The app stores recent scan history locally on your device so you can reopen previous product results without another lookup. This history may include product name, barcode, brand, nutrition values, image URL, ingredients, and scan time. This history is not sent to Barzig Lab Inc.
Permissions
- Camera access: used only to scan barcodes.
- Internet access: used to look up product and nutrition information.
- Vibration access: used to provide scan feedback.
- Image picker access: used only when you choose an image to decode a barcode.
Data Sharing
Barzig Lab Inc. does not sell personal information. The app sends detected barcode or GTIN values to Open Food Facts only to retrieve nutrition information.
Data Retention
Recent scan history is stored locally on your device. You can remove the app from your device to delete the app's local data. Future app versions may include additional in-app controls for clearing history.
Children's Privacy
Nutrition Lookup is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Nutrition Information Disclaimer
Nutrition data may come from public or third-party sources and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Always check the product package and consult qualified professionals for medical, allergy, or dietary advice.
Changes to This Policy
Barzig Lab Inc. may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions should include a new "Last updated" date.
